About The Wanted Children Foundation
Who:
The Wanted Children Foundation (TWCF), was established in 2006, by 24 year old Courtney Anderson after traveling to Africa, first as a 15 year old, then more recently upon the completion of her university degree. The greatest need facing the abandoned and orphaned children of Nigeria can be met within the mission statement of The Wanted Children Foundation. The foundation has a strong and rapidly expanding base in southwestern British Columbia (BC) and abroad. The foundation is registered in BC and is currently headed by five directors and a number of volunteers. The foundation has been endorsed by Chilliwack’s City Council, Chilliwack’s secondary schools, and local Rotary Clubs.

About the Founder
What:
The Wanted Children Foundation was formed as a means of providing tangible help to the less than privileged children of Nigeria. The current project of TWCF is based in Nigeria to meet the needs of homeless and orphaned children. Later additions to this project will include a medical clinic and school.
Where:. (See Nigeria) A temporary facility is in operation in the rural district of Isuikwato in Abia State, while a permenant piece of land is being negotiated.
When:
Courtney currently lives in the Isuikwato district of Nigeria, and is working with a team of nationals establishing a network for the identification of children in crisis. The foundation has begun Phase I of the project which is the design and construction of the orphanage.
Why:
On two previous trips to Nigeria which spanned a period of 13 months, Courtney was challenged by the incredible need that many children have. She was determined to find a way to meet some of that need. Upon returning to Canada, Courtney relayed her experiences to family, friends, and various community groups in her home town of Chilliwack, British Columbia. “… going to Nigeria really impacted me. I realized that life is so much bigger than what we have here. If we are capable of doing something, we should do it… shouldn’t we?” With the support of the above mentioned peoples, the foundation began. Today, The Wanted Children Foundation has a strong and rapidly expanding base in south western BC, and donors from many countries.
